What Is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy helps you access the subconscious mind the part of you that runs 95% of your daily life. This is where beliefs are formed, patterns are stored, and automatic reactions live.
You stay aware and in charge. This isn't loss of control it's focused attention. Like being absorbed in a book, lost in music, or driving on autopilot. That's trance. That's the state where real change happens.
Hypnotherapy doesn't give you something new. It reveals what you've always had: the ability to rewrite old stories, release stuck patterns, and install new ways of thinking and feeling.

HOW IT ACTUALLY WORKS

Before the Session
We talk about what you want to change. I explain what will happen. You ask questions. No surprises.

During the Session
You sit comfortably. I guide you into a focused, relaxed state using your breath, your natural ability to imagine. You're aware the entire time. You can speak, open your eyes, or stop whenever you want.
Once you're in that focused state, we work with your subconscious using metaphor, reframing, and guided imagery. We're not fighting against your mind- we're working with it.

After the Session
You return to normal awareness feeling calm, clear, and often surprised by how natural it felt. Changes happen immediately for some people. For others, shifts appear over the next few days as your subconscious integrates the new patterns.

Not stage hypnosis. No clucking like a chicken. No embarrassing performances. That's entertainment, not therapy.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will I lose control?
No. You're aware and in charge the entire time. Hypnotherapy is focused attention, not unconsciousness. You can speak, move, or stop the session anytime.

What does it feel like?
Most people describe it as deeply relaxed but alert—like meditation or being absorbed in a good book. Your body feels calm, your mind feels focused.

Can everyone be hypnotized?
About 90% of people can enter a therapeutic trance. If you can daydream or get lost in thought, you can do hypnotherapy.

How many sessions will I need?
Most people see meaningful change within 3-6 sessions. Some issues resolve faster. Complex trauma may take longer. We work at your pace.
​
What if I don't "go deep enough"?
You don't need to be in a deep trance for hypnotherapy to work. Even light trance is effective. Your subconscious is always listening.

Can hypnotherapy bring up traumatic memories?
Only if that's part of the therapeutic work we've agreed to do. I won't force you to relive anything. We can work with trauma gently using metaphor and indirect techniques.

Is it safe if I'm on medication?
Yes. Hypnotherapy complements medication. Many clients find they need less medication over time, but that's a decision you make with your prescribing doctor.

What's the difference between hypnotherapy and meditation?
Meditation observes thoughts. Hypnotherapy actively changes them. Both use focused attention, but hypnotherapy is directive and goal-oriented.
WHAT MAKES MY APPROACH DIFFERENT

I don't use scripts. I listen to how your mind works and adapt the session to you. Every brain is different especially neurodivergent brains.
I combine hypnotherapy with EFT. Sometimes we tap first to calm your nervous system, then use hypnosis to go deeper. Sometimes we use NLP reframing during trance. I use what works for you, not what works for a textbook.
I've lived with ADHD and hypervigilance. I know what it's like when your nervous system won't turn off. I'm not guessing at what you're experiencing -"I've been there"
