HOW EFT WORKS

You tap on specific acupuncture points on your face, hands, and chest while focusing on a difficult emotion, memory, or belief.

The tapping sends calming signals to your amygdala, the part of your brain that processes threat. This interrupts the fight/flight/freeze response and allows you to process the emotion without being overwhelmed by it.

It sounds strange. It looks unusual. And it works fast.

While you tap, you also speak, naming the feeling, the fear, the memory. This combines the physical release (tapping) with the cognitive reframe (language), working with both your body and your mind simultaneously.

WHAT AN EFT SESSION LOOKS LIKE​

Before We Tap
We talk about what's bothering you. It could be a current feeling, a specific memory, or a belief you want to shift. We identify where you feel it in your body and how intense it is (SUDS Level - 0-10 scale ).​

During Tapping
I guide you through the tapping points while you focus on the issue. We start with validation ("Even though I feel this way..."), then state the problem and move toward reframing ("I choose to Accept and love myself").
You might feel emotions come to the surface - that's normal and part of the release. You might feel physical sensations (yawning, sighing, temperature changes) - that's your nervous system recalibrating.

After Tapping
We check in on the intensity. Most people notice a significant drop (from 8/10 to 3/10, for example). We continue until the charge is neutral or manageable.

Some issues resolve in one round of tapping. Others need multiple sessions. Trauma takes longer than a current worry. But you WILL feel shifts.

Does tapping actually work, or is it placebo?
​EFT has research backing, particularly for anxiety, PTSD, and pain. But even if placebo were involved (it's not), would you care if it works? Your nervous system doesn't distinguish, it just responds

Will I have to relive my trauma?
No. EFT (Tapping) allows you to work with trauma from a safe distance. You're observing, not re-experiencing.
​
What if I can't feel emotions or cry?
That's fine. EFT works whether you cry or not. Some people release through physical sensations (yawning, sighing) rather than tears.

Can I use EFT on myself between sessions?
Yes. I'll teach you the basic protocol so you can use it independently. Many clients tap daily for maintenance.
​
How many sessions will I need?
Simple issues (recent stress, specific fear) often resolve in 1-3 sessions. Complex trauma takes longer, typically 6-10 sessions. We work at your pace.
​
Can EFT help with physical pain?
Yes. EFT is particularly effective for stress-related pain, tension, and chronic pain with an emotional component.
